PENGARUH VARIASI ARUS PENGELASAN MENGGUNAKAN ELEKTRODA MERK TIANJIN YANGIAO TERHADAP PERFORMANCE HASIL PENGELASAN

This research aims to perceive the characteristic of welding by using electrode made in China namely Tianjin Yanqiao Welding Material.It applies low carbon steel. The welding current are 50 Ampere, 70 Ampere, and 90 Ampere using SMAW welding with DC reverse polarity and electrode type E 6013 on 2.5 mm of diameter. The seam is V with angle 70o. The specimen are tested by drawing test, toughness, hardness, and micro structure test.The result shows that Carbon composition of welding core will raise if welding current also increases. The highest ultimate strength is on the 70 Ampere with the strengt amount of 411.8 MPa, but this is lower than the ultimate strength value of base metal about 687.9 MPa. The highest welding core toughness is 0,31 joule/mm2on the 50 Ampere. The highest hardness is 81.5 BHNon 50 Ampere. The Micro structure is more than 99% ferrite.
